Yes right answer Eddie

I miss you so much
Rest easy Legend🙏🙏
It's so strange that EVH got shorter, developed a thicker neck, different skin tone, different teeth, a different nose, a different mouth and eye color But his playing is nowhere near the virtuosity of the original. If you're not a highly skilled guitarist it may not be so easy to detect. His timing is off. His technique is so sloppy by comparison that it couldnt be compared. Those who studied him may be familiar with his distinctly unusual fingertips. Not present anymore. This is bullshit. Wears a goatee so noone sees there's no dimple in his chin?
This woman has no clue what eddie is talking about ! So sad to get this type of interview. Eddie is sharing so much and nothing is happening between them .. she's jus smiling for no reason . We miss you Eddie !! I was lucky to meet him . Really cool guy . My first concert ever 78 . Van halen / sabbath. In france
Such a kind hearted person.
She needs a good dentist. Interview by Bucky
27:24 - 27:27 Play this part of his solo at x2 speed and it sounds like a freakin power-up in Super Mario Bros, lol
You are so great, Eddie...Greatings from Aken to the sky...
Eddie was destined to be great and given up drums for guitar 🎸 was the greatest thing Eddie ever did. Hands down the best musician in the world.
She did a great job here. Hard job, not sure how long she get to prepare, but she did way WAY better than most so called "rock journalists"
I’m sorry but the lady interviewing him drives me nuts. I think it would have been more interesting with an interviewer that wasn’t absolute ass at their job
Sammy Hagar was the best thing that happened to Van Halen
GREAT
I would’ve given just about anything to have been at this. For the humor...the insights...the solos... But mostly for the “jam with my father”.
RIP!!
That Denise chick is annoying asf.
Broke down crying at least twice during this... still in part disbelief hes passed away. This was so beyond just an interview 😢 - Thank you
Reinvention? It’s about playing an instrument in the same way a human speaks. Eruption Eddie was best solo of all time
29:25 that riff was cool
That's the intro to the song Women In Love on Van Halen II
When he looks at the camera, it feels like a real conversation. R.I.P. Eddie. Miss you truely
Eddie's Guitar needs a place in the Smithsonian for he changed the instrument forever.
Eddie, you are a great guy. Thank you for your music and words of wisdom.

The best are always wanting to teach!!
My mother was born and raised in France and came here in 58 and I must say that the proudest day of her life was getting her citizenship in 67. These kids these days take this country and all that it truly stands for for granted. That being said you are a Legend and Icon whose name is written in immortality! WVH you are undoubtedly a rising star! Keep hold of your families ethics and the skies the limit! God bles!
Greatest rock guitar player ever....
dude,he sounds like George Carlin..now i'm even sadder
This is pure Gold !
i love eddie, but its kind of funny that he claims to have invented wax potting pickups. I believe he did it himself but Fender starting potting their single coil pickups in the early 50's, and they wernt the ones who came up with the idea either.
29:25 what song is this from, i must know
RIP to a legend
Seen van halen in 78 oklahoma city backing sabbath with ozzy after show went to hotel think it was the myriad 3 am Micheal and Eddie walk up 2 me I was reading a paper in the e lobby Eddie says anything good on the headlines I said no then he asked me if I new where a cigarette machine was told em there was one by the elevator so they go over put money in and it rips em off so they start beating the crap out of it I thought the cops would be there any second so I split ! T*Rex
How many see this now and tear up?
I can just imagine others nearby or outside The Smithsonian's Museum suddenly hearing that Guitar Shredding of Eddie Van Halen and rushing to see or hear more! I certainly would be like WTF... where is that coming from I gotta go see whats this about!
EVH made what he did look so easy, even in this video where he is older, that people actually thought that what he did was a trick or some synth/overdub thing that he was labeled as overrated..... Until they saw him live or tried to play it themselves!! He was truly a pioneer and invented a different style that people try to copy to this day. Legend.
Such a beautiful interview! I don't know Van Halen's music, but I'm so inspired by EVH. He's not only otherworldly talented, but also very wise. And his smile is so contagious!
And to think he is no longer with us. Rest in peace Eddie,,,,we miss you dude,,,,
Cigarettes kill more people bringing their lives to an early end.
Wow wow wow
I’ve watched two minutes of this and I’m already in love and want to be his best friend. He seems like such a sweetheart!
Wow never knew he was half Indo ! Cool 👍🏼
Watching this great interview again now that he’s gone feels really strange. It sucks to think such a legend is not with us anymore. EVH’s legacy will live on forever.
EVH has been my guitar hero all my life I'm not over his loss
The king of tapping
Off topic here and no disrespect to Eddie, but Denise is one sexy thick asian lady.....wow
Eddie looked and sounded great here, what an interesting guy and interesting story.
Rip Eddie . The world will never be the same without you
Why do 3000 people not like this?
Adesso va bene.. un vigliacco... 😎
Eddy was a so called Indo in the Netherlands. Mostly a white father and a women from Indonesia . Nowadays we have more than 2.500.000 mixed Indo people. A lot of them are very succesfull in music. look for the Tielman Brothers on AMworlds........Eddy was a great fan of the leadgitarist Andy Tielman. We still have many giant Indo guitarists in Holland . What Andy Tielman did then, was imitated even by Jimmy Hendrix, look for yourself.......Sobat beristirahat dengan damai. English:" Friend, Rest in Peace"
This. Was. Awesome.
38:31 and 49:11 describes Eddie Van Halen best. He was just a humble guitar genius that loved his family.
Hearing Eddie talk about his love from Clapton and Cream really warms my heart because Clapton in Cream is one of my absolute favorite guitar tones and he's one of my guitar heroes for sure.
Beautiful genius at work his music will live on forever one of the greatest guitar players ever RIP EDDIE
Won't see another Eddie in my lifetime. There can be only one.
The pricey attack echographically flash because sturgeon synchronously wait than a enchanted literature. industrious, tasteless force
I remember when I first found van Halen I believe the song was hot for teacher and I had never heard anything like it. I became completely obsessed and everyone in my house knew me as an Eddie Van Halen die hard. I always said that I would see him play live one day. My brother and dad picked me up from work and I was sitting in the back seat when I found out Eddie Van Halen died. They went on talking about how he was a great musician as I quietly let tears run down my face. I sat there knowing that I will never get to meet him or hear him play in person. It is strange that even though I never got meet him in person I feel as though a close friend has died even months later. RIP Eddie and I hope someday that I can get to watch you play a gig with your dad in heaven
That high hat. Loose as a goose and sounded so good. Thank you brother.
There will never be another Eddie breed legend in this century again. We got to witness something amazing.
great interview
Bet those bullies are thinking what they haddone to them and that they never knew they had touch greatness .never judge a book by its cover never know that person could be famous one day. Knowing eddie but he even invited them bullies to one his concerts
So cool to hear how he built his guitars . First guitar I ever built was a body I bought out of a salvage bin . Used a Ibanez Cimar ( think thats what it was called ... cheap fiber board guitar ) neck . My byddy had wiring , pots and active/passive EMG pick ups . So I put it together and called it a VICTORIA by Ace Customs . As far as I know its the only Victoria guitar in the world . Unfortunately it was stolen by the guy who was supposed to fix neck ... I couldn't get it set right because the body had a weird hump where neck sets into body . Spent years looking for that guitar to no avail 😔
A true Master Guitarist... RIP Eddie. Generations unknown will still be hearing your musical talent for years to come.
Incredible how theres so many down vote on this interview. I wasnt even a Van Halen fan till after this. Great Vid. Enlightening Thanks!
We are so fortunate to have this video where EVH humbly walks us through his genius on guitar.
He is one of the few rare, unique gods of the guitar....truly an inspiration for millions of guitarists after he released eruption in 78. Which means he was doing this several years earlier before it got to the masses. GOAT. A true pioneer and innovator of was was possible on the electric guitar. This live without a net solo is hypnotizing. Its live and pretty sure he's hammered as hell....this was history and genius caught on film....Eddie van Halen is everything I love about the electric guitar. Rip mr. Van Halen.
Saw Van Halen in '78. Phoenix. Great night. At one point we were chanting, "TURN IT UP!" Next song it almost doubled in volume. I have no doubt it was Eddie jacking up the voltage on his Marshalls. We couldn't believe how different Eddie's technique was. They had already played the entire record. We kept bringing them out for encores. They did cover songs. 2 were by The Who. Summertime Blues and We Don't Get Fooled Again(their version was mind-blowing). I think he was more influenced by Pete Townsend's style of bold guitar than he cared to admit. No doubt he took it to another level.
Eddie Van Halen...musical genius!! R.I.P. 🙏🙏💕🎶🇺🇲
Ed mother is Indonesian...Wow Dasyatttt...
wonderful interview....great loss
I dont care about the haters or people that judge - this man was a part of changing rock n roll and his guitar is still as smooth and nasty as it ever was!
I wanted to cry when he started talking about Wolfgang and how he drew strength from him on stage.
Effortlessly ENTERS BEAST MODE!. What a Legend.
So glad he gave the drums to AL and he took the GUITAR!!! Legends made!!!!
Rest in peace Eddie
if u hate tools do not become a guitarist!
Wow... they gotta a listen, dosen't matter how long
the earth doesn't feel the same without him. RIP Eddie.
And... It really seems like just yesterday he was an adorable kid who could really crank on a guitar... that impish smile and his kind heart are what drew me to him... It was his talent and original sound that kept him in my heart until he went off to that big concert stage... can't wait to see him play again! RIP YOU WONDERFUL MAN!! 💔🌷🙏💐😢
A lefty playing righty- I get it 😉
Man alive, she's a phenomenal interviewer and host.
maybe Huey Lewis was pushing the soft rock thing againt disco and punk as Van Haylen ..
Master Class
A total loser!!!!
what a loss...made me cry
There is always room for more...know what I mean?:)
I know Alex misses eddie 😢 family is a special thing.
Very real interview, Very well done!!!
Great interview, idk why they micd up the crowd and not the amp, plus you can’t hear Eddie half the time
What a good men. You'll miss us a lot.
This man said dimebag deceives a real guitar and he ment it now we know y he came second to him and elevated the guitar higher then him
Such a shame to hear Eddie's voice destroyed by cigarettes.
Life...changes people. It takes away and it gives and nobody remains the same. Let's not get hung up on what changed in Eddie, let's talk about how he changed *you*
Such a down to earth, unique, and genuine musician. RIP
